Well, well, well. Despite all the fabulous rumors about who would appear on Sunday, at the Olympics Closing Ceremony, it still turned out to be quite the show.
With appearances from the likes of Monty Python, the Who, a hologram of Freddie Mercury, the Pet Shop Boys, the Spice Girls and Oasis, AND a human cannonball! – it was a great display of British talent. Was it better than the Opening Ceremony, I think not, but really, what could be?
The light show and aerial view of the stadium was fantastic, and what a wonderful idea that each country gets to take home they’re own Olympic torch. But most importantly, I especially enjoyed the shots of the Olympians themselves, who after all, make this the event that it is. What a fortnight they have had, laden with medals around their necks, the smiles and tears were abundant.
The hand off to Brazil was beautiful. I don’t know about you, but I’m very much looking forward to representing BullGuard in Rio, in 2016! And what a creative ‘multicultural embrace’ they displayed with all 250 dancers. It’s going to be quite the party!
As the International Olympic Committee President said the other night, “These were happy and glorious Games”. After hosting the Olympic Games three times, England’s certainly got the hang of it!
Oh, and did I mention that I was the chauffeur for Posh Spice’s taxi cab during the Ceremony?
