Oscars-blog‘Ello, ‘Ello,

I don’t know about you chaps, but I cannot wait for the Oscars! There’s quite a lot of solid contenders this year, and I should know – I make sure I watch all of the nominated movies, so that I can give the judges an earful, should their decisions not be in line with mine.

Here are some of my picks for the major categories – what do you think?

  • Best Picture – Argo
  • Best Actor in a Leading Role – Bradley Cooper
  • Best Actress in a Leading Role – Jessica Chastain

So, what might the Oscars have to do with your internet security you ask? Well, as with any high trending topic, cybercriminals are all about it, and are rapidly inventing schemes that they’re hoping you will fall for.

  • Keep an eye out for messages such as “LOL, See who won the Oscar!”  that may appear in emails, pop-ups, links on social media or in search results rendered by the search engine you use. These are more than likely phishing links. You’re far better off trusting your normal and more reputable websites for up-to-the-minute news on who won what.
  • Keep checking in at the BullGuard Blog for news on what the underworld of the internet is up to and how to protect yourselves and your loved ones.

Alright then, now that we’ve covered the internet security tips on the latest phishing scams, let’s get back to the Oscars! What about the Oscars Red Carpet?! I’m especially looking forward to seeing Jennifer Lawrence and Naomi Watts.Who are you excited to see? Tell me, let’s chat about it!
