Last week we were announcing that BullGuard Internet Security 2013 achieved the perfect score in Protection from the AV-TEST Institute. Today, we have yet another exciting announcement to make: in the latest on-demand test performed by Av-Comparatives on 20 antivirus products, BullGuard registered one of the highest malware protection rates, worthy of the highest distinction awarded by the independent testers: The Advanced + Certificate.
The experts installed the products on the Windows 7 (64-bit) platform and tested them against 136610 samples of the latest malware (gathered up until 22nd of February 2013). Noteworthy is that they only evaluated the static file scanning engine sub-component of the antivirus products submitted. In other words, they assessed only a subset of the total protection provided by the security products. However, in awarding the certification, the experts also took into consideration the false alarms rendered by the products during the testing – the lower the number of false positives, the better! Here is an overview of the AV-Comparatives’ testing process: File Detection Test of malicious software (includes false alarm test).
The AV-Comparatives experts have also provided a sneak peek into their up-coming Real-World Protection Test – currently the most comprehensive and complex type of test. A full detailed report will be released in July. Until then, here are the March results:
As you can see, BullGuard is ranking high in the protection rates chart.
