How to remove temporary files
| WHAT ARE TEMPORARY FILES? A cache (folder with the temporary files) is a place to store something more or less temporarily. For instance, when you visit a web page it's stored in your browser's cache directory on your hard disk. This is done in order to speed up repeated access to the same website.
If you download something from a website and it contains an infected file, this file will also be stored in your cache on your hard disk drive. This is why we recommend that you delete all temporary Internet files or temporary system files periodically. |
It is recommended to periodically delete all temporary files on your computer. To delete the Temporary Internet Files and the temporary system files, please follow the guide below:
Open SteelSecurity
Disable BullGuard Gamers' Edition's firewall and anti-virus from it's Console. Double-click the BullGuard Gamers' Edition icon
in your System Tray (bottom right corner, next to the clock):

Disable the BullGuard Gamers' Edition Antivirus and Firewall
Disable the BullGuard Gamers' Edition Antivirus from the Antivirus section > Protection tab > [Turn it off] option.

Disable the BullGuard Gamers' Edition Firewall from the Firewall section > Overview tab > [Turn it off] option.

Internet Explorer
Open Internet Explorer and go to Tools > Internet Options > General tab > Temporary Internet files section. Press the Delete Files... button.

Disk Cleanup utility
Run the Disk Cleanup utility of Windows. You can find it in the Start menu > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools.

Folders
Locate the two folders (Temporary Internet Files & Temp) on your hard disk using Windows Explorer and the path indicated by the vscan.log scan report file and empty them:
Select all the files within those folders with Ctrl+A, then press the Delete key.

You might not be able to see some hidden files and folders. In order to be able to do so, please follow the next steps:
Open Windows Explorer, go to Tools > Folder Options > View:
- Check "Show hidden files and folders"
- Uncheck "Hide protected operating system files"

That's it. You have now successfully removed all temporary files.
