How to reinstall BullGuard
Please follow this guide if you wish to reinstall BullGuard on your computer.
IMPORTANT! As with any Internet security application, it is HIGHLY recommended to uninstall all other antivirus and firewall products on your computer before installing BullGuard 8.5, as they are to conflict with each other. It would also be wise to disable the Windows Firewall and Windows Defender in XP or Vista.
Note: This guide is for BullGuard v9.0.
Download BullGuard 9.0
First, click the below link to download the latest version of BullGuard:
Download BullGuard
In the pop-up window that appears next, choose Save:

Select a location to download the file. You may choose your Desktop, so it is easy to find it after the download is finished. BullGuard will now be downloaded to your computer.
If you already have an older BullGuard version installed, you need to uninstall it first. Please DO NOT install new versions on top of existing ones in order to avoid conflicts between their components.
Uninstall BullGuard.
In order to uninstall, you can either use the standard Windows Add/Remove Programs feature from Control Panel or uninstall it from the Start Menu.
First of all, please close the BullGuard application on your computer.
Step 1

Next, please go to Start > All Programs > BullGuard > Uninstall.

The first uninstall window is the Welcome screen. Click Next to proceed further.

Step 2
At the next screen, you are offered the possibility to keep the current BullGuard settings in case you wish to reinstall the application.

About keeping the settings
Basically, the Keep Setting option saves all Antivirus, Firewall and Backup profiles, settings and Spamfilter safe and blocked contacts or domains lists. Saving the user preferences is recommended if you plan to reinstall BullGuard and would like to avoid going through editing each module and profile all over again.
Step 3
After clicking Next, a progress bar will show when the uninstall process is finished. Do not close the window during this operation and wait for it to finish. Closing the uninstall window prematurely will lead to an incomplete installation and may prevent reinstalling BullGuard correctly.

Step 4
The last window at the end of the uninstall process will ask users to restart the computer. Choose Reboot now to restart the computer or I want to manually reboot later to postpone restarting the computer.

Restart the computer
It is necessary to restart the computer as some BullGuard components like the Antivirus or Firewall drivers can only be removed at the Windows startup. Note that reinstalling BullGuard without restarting the computer will prevent the installation process from completing successfully.
Alternatively, please follow the solution below:
1. Click HERE to download the Uninstall tool on your desktop.
2. Right-click on the archive and unzip its content on your computer.
3. Double-click on the extracted file to run it.
4. Restart the computer.
Install BullGuard
After the computer restarts, locate the installer your downloaded on your desktop and double-click it. The file is called "BullGuard" and looks just like the icon of the actual program:
Run the BullGuard installer from your desktop (to start the installer click on the BullGuard icon you will see on your desktop) and follow the installation steps.
Step 1

Step 2
Once the download is finished, simply click on the Run button to start the installer. The first screen may be the security Windows pop-up asking whether to run an executable file.
All official releases are signed by BullGuard and it will show in the Publisher section of the warning pop-up. Click Run to continue with the install process.

Step 3
The first window to appear is the Welcome screen and advises you to close any unsaved documents due to the fact that some BullGuard components may require a restart. Click Next to continue.

Closing other applications
If other active security applications or specific viral infections are present on the computer, Windows may crash when BullGuard installs its drivers and components.
Because security solutions are complex applications and the install process requires access to core Windows system components, it is safest to lower the processor workload for a fast and successful installation.
Step 4
The second window warns you to uninstall any other security applications to avoid any application conflicts. Click Next to continue with the installation.

Uninstall other antivirus and firewall products
Because almost all current security applications have real-time file scanning engines they might prevent BullGuard from installing specific vital components such as the Firewall or Antivirus drivers. Also, running more than one security application at the same time can prevent parts of the installed application to startup correctly and can generate a multitude of module related errors.
Step 5
Read the EULA (End Users License Agreement) which presents the rights and responsibilities of both user and BullGuard Ltd. To be able to continue with the installation, you will need to accept the EULA terms.

Step 6
Select the location you wish BullGuard installed to. The default location is in the Windows default Program Files path. To change it, simply type another location or click on Browse to indicate a new location. Click on the Install button to continue.

Step 7
After clicking on the Install button a new window with a progress bar will appear. Please allow the installation to finish and do not close the window while BullGuard is installed. As soon the progress bar reaches 100%, a new screen will appear.

Step 8
After the install process is completed you will be asked to restart your computer. Choose Reboot now to restart the computer or I want to manually reboot later to postpone restarting the computer. Do not start BullGuard until you have restarted your computer.

Restart the computer
Starting your BullGuard Internet Security before restarting your computer, will generate errors and may lead to corrupted BullGuard files. Also, please make sure that you save any open documents before restarting the computer to avoid loosing any unsaved information.
Registering the application
A Bullguard account needs to be created within 7 days after running the application for the first time.
As BullGuard works as a subscription-based application, you will be asked to create an account when running the application for the first time. Creating an account requires an internet connection; a 7 days grace period is available enabling the users to register the account within 7 days, in case an internet connection is unavailable.
The account registration is only necessary for users who have not had BullGuard installed on that computer previously. If any other version of BullGuard has been installed, you will not be prompted to register an account but only to login with your already registered account.
Account registration
By default BullGuard is set to start automatically at the Windows startup and at the first start up it will also display the registration screen.
At the registration screen you can choose whether to register a new account or to login with an existing account. You can also configure a proxy server if you use one for your internet connection.

Choose Yes, I already have a BullGuard account: If you already have a BullGuard account you can login with your account details and skip the account creation process. This option will be enabled by default if any BullGuard version has previously been installed on the computer.
Forgotten password
If forgotten, the password can be reset at user request via an online password reset form at https://www.bullguard.com/my-account/passwordrecover.aspx. The password reset procedure will require the e-mail address used as username to be valid as the users will receive the password reset confirmation and activation links via email.
Remember, your BullGuard username is your email address.
If you have forgotten your password, you can ask for a new one here: Get a new password
Now BullGuard connects to our server and checks your account. It will start running like you have a paid subscription instead of a trial one.
Kind regards,
The BullGuard Team
