This section enables you to set up what the Parental Control module from the BullGuard Mobile Security application should monitor. You can choose from:
Voice call monitoring
Log Event Limit: select an available event limit from the pull-down list. This option sets the frequency with which the installed Mobile Security application uploads monitored information to the Security Manager. Setting the Event Limit to 1 will make BullGuard upload the monitored events in real-time, almost, as soon as they occur on the device.
Log Size Limit: select an available size limit from the pull-down list. We recommend that you do not set this limit to ‘Off’. The Log Event Limit and Log Size Limit work together in that whichever setting is triggered first, that’s the one that takes effect. The event limit causes the device to send the specified amount of events (e-mail, voice, SMS, MMS) as one combined event when the event limit is achieved. This is preferable to sending each individual event in real-time. If the device sends or receives a large number of messages, you should set this limit higher rather than lower. Otherwise, the device could be constantlysending events to the dashboard, which could hinder the performance of the device. The Log Size Limit sets the frequency with which Mobile Security uploads monitored events to the Security Manager, based on the number of events occurring on the device.
Image monitoring: images received through MMS or photos taken with the smartphone’s camera. To minimize bandwidth consumption, all images will be uploaded as thumbnails.
Web image monitoring: images loaded by visited websites
Lock on SIM change: With this feature, if the SIM is changed, the device switches to lock the device and turns the GPS feature on, allowing you to monitor the location of the device. The device can be unlocked by inserting the original SIM card.
Wipe on SIM change: This check box is only available when the Lock on SIM Change check box is enabled. With this feature selected, if the SIM is swapped for another, sensitive device information is automatically wiped.
DO NOT ENABLE Wipe on SIM change if you use more than 1 SIM card for your Android smartphone. This way, you’ll avoid losing important private information.
Once you have set up the monitoring options for your handset as desired, click on Save. This will send a command to the device, prompting BullGuard Mobile Security to connect to the server and retrieve the latest monitoring changes.
IMPORTANT: All commands from the Mobile Security Manager are sent through text messages. The device needs to have a SIM card, be turned on and have a reception in order for the commands to reach the device.
