Blue STOP screen messages - Need help please

HI,

Since I left the first post I have had someone check out my PC. They were unable to locate the problem but upgraded XP to service pack 3.

Still getting blue screen - not on start up - mostly with mouse right click, or delete functions, and the stop message also has changed. Strangely my Spyware programmes were missing too...

I ran Doc Web on pc return and the following were moved:

I have also discovered that system restore is not working....

Is there anything you can suggest for me to do to remedy this problem?

Hope someone can help me. I dont know enough to tell whether this is a virus problem or not.

I have been getting a blue screen shortly after Windows has loaded saying that a problem has been detected and Windows shut down to prevent damage to my computer. It gives me a message DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL and a string of other information.

This used to happen occasionally but with increasing regularity. I also have applications that need to shut down (internet explorer is one regular), and reports going back to microsoft.

Windows seems to take ages to load - when it does - and ages to close down.

Have I got a virus lurking there, or a problem with my system.

Do hope someone can help. I have rolled back recent updates to Internet Explorer, Windows Media Player and uninstalled other recent downloads but I am getting nowhere, and getting very frustrated thinking of what to try next. Could not get system restore to go back more than a week.
