I have done everything I can do and that isn't much.  I need some help.  Along with the pop up ads I've had for so long I also have this virus that puts green hyperlinks into everything on the internet.  I also have a history with rndrcus and apropos.  I would appreciate any help I can get.

Hey Kissyoursoul,

Just had a small look on you Hijack This!.

1. re-run the scan and check the following items and then click on FIX:

R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing
O2 - BHO: DLMaxObj Class - {00000000-59D4-4008-9058-080011001200} - C:\WINDOWS\dlmax.dll
O2 - BHO: Band Class - {01F44A8A-8C97-4325-A378-76E68DC4AB2E} - C:\WINDOWS\systb.dll

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Win Server Updt] C:\WINDOWS\wupdt.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [farmmext] C:\WINDOWS\farmmext.exe
O9 - Extra button: Ebates - {6685509E-B47B-4f47-8E16-9A5F3A62F683} - file://C:\Program Files\Ebates_MoeMoneyMaker\Sy350\Tp350\scri350a.htm (file missing) (HKCU)

O23 - Service: ZESOFT - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\zeta.exe (file missing)

2. manually remove the following files:

C:\WINDOWS\dlmax.dll
C:\WINDOWS\systb.dll
C:\WINDOWS\System32\nsdFA.dllO3
c:\windows\system32\jywzeqt.exe
C:\WINDOWS\wupdt.exe
C:\WINDOWS\farmmext.exe
C:\counter.cab
C:\WINDOWS\zeta.exe

Also, in order to be able to delete the viruses just press SHIFT+DEL (they willnot pass through Recycle Bin).

Also, get SpyBot Search and Destroy from > here < and run a scan with it. Then post your logb again.

Good luck

First I want to thank you for the help you are giving me.  I should have done this much sooner.

I want to say before you look at my logfile again that I was a little confused by step 2 of your first instructions.  I was able to manually delete the dlmax.dll because I could find it but wasn't able to find any of the other files.  If you could give me a step by step explaining how to find it I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks so much in advance

why dont you go to Add/remove programs and remove all the add stuff like - toolbars / 180 solutions buddy and other stuff that looks like adds. All this crap will go away after you do that. Try that first before running Hijack this. I dont get why people keep getting software to do it when they can do it themselves.

1 Go Add remove programs and remove any software they might see that looks suspicious - toolbars are the #1 things
start > control panel > add /remove programs
2 Start > run > type in msconfig.
this will take you to the configuration of ur computer > click startup tab - last to the right and then remove the processes in there taht have random letters and number "s* #%&hwe" < example or anything that looks suspicious. Do this after you do add / remove because otherwise these will coem back.

3. Go into registry > HKLM > microsoft > windows > current version > run
This is anohter place where startup items are put by viruses and by stupid add programs (damn them). Also Run once in the same folder in the registry.

After you do this you will be add free. Screw hijack this. That one is stupid. I see all the noobs use it.

If you need some help email me at eatthecandygirl@yahoo.com i can give you more advice on adds.

Well. The first thing I do is go to add/remove programs. I did this years ago and certainly before coming to a board like this. There is nothing in my add/remove programs that is spyware or virus. Thanks for the advice though.

And for the registry, I do go there and have a look around. It's just that I am more careful now because I once removed something I wasn't supposed to and had to call support and reinstall windows.

I can already tell that the help I have received has made a huge difference in my internet explorer.
