hello everyone,
I can't use our computer anymore.
I had bitdefender on our computer when someone in this forum
told me to use the free bullguard virus sw.
So I deleted the bitdefender and installed the bullguard sw.
and I think something went wrong.

After scanning my disk with the bullguard I had trouble and
whatever programm I tried to start I would get the error message:

This programm had performed an illegal operation and will be shutdown.
if the problem persists contact your programm vendor...

After that nothing worked at all, not even the shutdown or reebot.
So I tried to uninstall or repair the bullguard.
Which didn't work and I got the message:

There is a problem with this window installer package.
A programm for this install to complete could not be run.
Contact your support personal or package vendor.

Well I worked on and decided to leave bullguard on the system
but don't touch it until I have time to solve the problem.
The computer worked allright then for some days but last weekend
after booting a red screen with "Buy Bullguard" came up  and it comes up since then everytime when the system comes up.
I then get the usual message that
This programm had performed an illegal operation and will be shutdown.
if the problem persists contact your programm vendor...
and I cannot do anything at all.

Maybe anyone can tell me how to get rid of the red starting "buy bullguard" window or in which file it is started.
I think I have a serious problem with windows btw. we us 98
but it is my boyfriends computer and he has no system disk,
otherwhise I would have formated the disk and reinstalled everything new although I am not very familiar with windows.

Any help with this is greatly appreciated
I thank you in advance
Gabi

 hey Gap,
since (I'm not positive of this) I might be the one to have told you that, I'll try to help you out, first of all Have you paid for bullguard? If you have in the lower left hand corner of the red buy bullguard window there's a little white box put a check in it that should stop that. now as far as the system goes, do you know anyone with a 98 disk? because if you do you can use that disk to repair your operating system, but I think the problems not in your system. send a email to support@bullguard.com  tell them your problem they may have a solution that I don't. good luck and let me know.

Hi eagle,
thanks for the reply.
I don't know anyone with a 98 disk so far but will look arround.
Anyway I have not payed bullguard since it is a 2 months free
version which I wanted to test.
However it is not working well and I would like to get it removed and see if the problem exists, if not maybe install it again.
Also I am a bit confused because the bitdefender found this trojan
but when I started the bullguard virus check it said no viruses...?
So they might not have found them.
But that's a problem for later when i got the system running again.

I contact the bullguard support and see what they have to say.
Thanks and all the best to you
Gabi

 Hi gabi,
If you want to uninstall just go to your control panel and add/remove programs highlight bullguard click remove. that should do it.

Hello Eagle,
Thanks for the info, but at the moment I can't do anything.
After booting the computer the red window buy bullguard is coming up and
then I only get error messages like described
This program has performed an illegal operation...... and so on...
Whatever funktion I use (except notepad) it comes and nothing happens
I cannot even shut it down or get on the internet not to mention remove programm.

I also wrote to support@bullguard.com what problem I have and to
get some info of how to remove the buy bullguard window but no andswer so far.
Do you know how fast they reply?

Thanks again and hope to get on with this in the near futur.

Are you still running your bit defender on your machine that could cause a conflict. try disableing that then uninstalling the bullguard or running bullguard sometimes having two AV programs don't work this might be what's going on. As far as there reply time they are usually on top of things, try finding petria and PM her that one works for bullguard and she could tell you more about the software than I can. (I certainly hope petrias a girl after all the times I've said that).
