Stinger has informed me that my computer is infected with the W32\Backdoor-CFB virus, yet it is not removing it for me.  I have turned system restore off, I have scanned with Spybot 1.3, and Adaware, yet nothing is being picked up.  Stinger is not doing anything!!!!

Download this scanner: http://www.mwti.net/antivirus/free_utilities.asp
Use link nr.7!
Scan with Hijacktis, close all other windows, put a checkmark to these, and fix:
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [ares] "C:\Program Files\Ares\Ares.exe" -h <---Optional, leave IF you installed this.
O4 - Global Startup: hp center.lnk = C:\Program Files\hp center\137903\Program\BackWeb-137903.exe

Boot to safe mode – F8
Find and delete these files:

C:\Program Files\Ares\Ares.exe <<< leave IF you installed this.

Run scanner from Microworld, activate all in settings
Reboot

I had the same problem. Here's what finally eliminated this virus: download and install a trial version of Trend Micro Internet Security 11 and run its virus scan. This worked like a charm for me. You can uninstall this application after it has killed this BackDoor-CFB virus  and return using your current virus scanner if you wish. Also just to be on the safe side, run Ad-Aware SE Personal after the virus has been dealt with by Trend Micro.

Touch, the scanner you have told me to download, when scanning, doesn't pick up any virus.
Now the avpx.exe virus icon looks like two computers connected (internet connection icon). It keeps cutting me off the internet. Also, I can't download the Trend Micro Internet Security 11 because the file is about 35MB and that takes too long (the connection gets terminated then it has to reset).
I still can't get rid of the virus. Is there any way to get rid of it? Now it has turned into a really annoying state where it keeps doing it often.
