Hi there, do you continually get infected emails and Bullguard notifies you, but you are getting tired of so much wasted time scanning your computer and going through the cleaning process?
I have a solution. When Bullguard notifies you you have an infected email, you can do take these fast simple steps if you follow this routine: [I use Mozilla Thunderbird but it will probably be similar for other email programs]
1. Create folders in your email program to keep emails you want to keep, and whenever you receive an email you want to hang onto, drag it into that folder. Keep your 'in' folder clear, so it only gets the new emails.
2. Make sure you know the location of your inbox on your computer. [I have set a custom location which is on a smallish partition of my harddrive in which I save all my recent important work, and also of which I make very regular Acronis True images of to an external harddrive.]
3. Get the free program: 'Eraser' from http://www.heidi.ie/eraser/download.phphttp://www.heidi.ie/eraser/download.php
4. Whenever Bullguard notifies you of a virus infected email, close Thunderbird, go to the folder where your inbox, spam folder etc are located, right click on 'inbox' [not 'inbox.msf'] and choose erase from the local menu. You can do the same with the 'junk' and 'trash'. Thunderbird will automatically generate a new pristine inbox, and you will still have your important emails because of your good routine of saving them to another folder.
