I recieved the email notifying me of the URL of Bullguard Beta. I downloaded it, and installed it. I rebooted, and when I got back in, my PC was insanely slow. I could barely do anything. When I tried opening the task mananger, a window pops up saying "End task: Task manager". Which makes no sense, but again..This is all after installing Bullguard 5.

In addition to this, Bullguard took a long period of time before it was abel to be viewed at all. It refused to update.

System specs:

2.4GHz processor.
Windows XP
512MB RAM
Dell Dimension 2350.

Also, as a final serious problem, it took two tries before I was able to boot into safe mode. And even then, it took a very long time to get through that, longer than usual.

I uninstalled Bullguard 5 and everything is fine now. I did a virus scan while I was in safe mode, with another program, and that yielded no results.

I just figured I'd let you guys no that Bullguard 5 is not all that stable. In fact it destabilized a stable system.

Oh, and I forgot to mention.

The place where you are supposed to give feedback (Not sure if I'm supposed to give it out) does not work. So this was the only place I could notify you.

Xbot: I installed the trial version today of Bullguard, including update, after disabling only Norton, and had no problem other than it keeps popping up all the time and has to be answered to disappear. My computer is working just fine. Ferd

I'm talking about the beta when I say Bullguard 5.

See, funny thing is, I'm not sure if it's just my machine or if it's a universal problem.

My Dell Dimensions is a really screwy computer. I'll explain my plight of installing a RAID controller:

I went out and bought a RAID controller. I put it in a card slot. It worked.

So I was all happy for awhile, when I wanted to install a firewire card. For convenience, I needed to move the RAID controller to a different slot. I did. When booting up, the RAID controller was not detected. At all. So I moved it to another slot. Didn't work. So I decided functionality is better than convenience, and put the RAID controller in it's original slot. It didn't work. I was confused. I put it in the slot I wanted to move it to before, and tadaa! It worked. I put the firewire card in and all was well.

My computer has situations like this commonly. It doesn't like to be changed apparently. So this is not 100% conclusive, but I will say that it did mess up my computer and is bound to mess up others.

Are you running adaware with the beta 2? There is a SIGNIFICANT incompatability. (See my post elsewhere) My system is totally strange now, no bg protection, even though I have a tray icon. No firewall either.  Sux to be my computer since Saturday.

Where ever you go, there you are.
