Try an application called OnlineEye.
 
It is free unless you upgrade to the pro version and mimics exactly what the activity bar used to do in Bullguard version 4.5

I hope this helps all of you that were disappointed when the Bullguard Dev's refused to listen to us and left the activity bar out of there new software.

I tried online eye free version and i don't see any scan activity bar. Still think of downgrading to v 4.5.
How don't they just leave it as a clic-option...

This is exactly the point I have been trying to make to Bullguard since they released version 5.  No-one seems to care that much.  It's a shame, because apart form this, the Bullguard Team are top for tech support and have a top product too.
 
It's a shame they refuse to bring back the activity bar... :(

Dear Liam,
 
The Activity Bar has been left out from the latest versions of BullGuard for the following reasons:


1. First of all, it related our product to much to the image of the Bitdefender Antivirus. So it was first a marketing decission. nono
 
2. Secondly, there was a functionality considerent, since the GUI of the new versions has been modified in terms of programming language used, and the Activity Bar would have been un-necesarily difficult to implement in the GUI.
 
3. Thirdly, it interfered with other applications (especially gaming applications), because in some cases it focused on the desktop and caused other applications to exit the full-screen mode.
 
4. And finally, the Activity Bar has been replaced with an acitve counter, that still shows the status of the on-access scanning module (visible in the Main section of the console, Overview tab, Antivirus status).


Hope this clears up a little bit the "frustration" and inconvenience of the loss of the Activity Bar, and also explains our feedback to this suggestion so far.

Thanks for your reply Andrei.
I have always wondered why Bullguard got rid of the activity bar as you probably know, now I have an answer, I can put it to bed...
I will never detract from the fact that you have an awesome product that I install as a matter of course on clients, friends and families computers alike when I get the opportunity. 
Your product still comes top of the recomendation list for me personally.
