I keep getting notifications of "port scans" ? How can I stop these happening or find out who/where they are coming from  ?

Port scans can be harmless, or at times can be someone running automatic scripts testing the different "ports" on your system for vulnerabilities. Although these can occur somewhat frequently, users are not aware of them unless they have their firewall software set to alert for them. And unless a firewall alerts to an actual malicious action resulting from some bad thing gaining unwanted access, many just disable receiving such alerts. What firewall is giving you these there please?
