The error is caused by the fact that due to exterior causes some Windows files have been modified (installing or updating another application), and some of those files are used in the BullGuard Main module. Since you have an older version, at that time BullGuard did not set those files on read-only to protect them fro being modified, so that is why you receive the error and the application does not start.

 

You should uninstall the application, and delete the firewall's driver files like this:

 

1. Type Start -> Run-> type cmd and press Enter.

 

2. In the command prompt shell, please type the following rows, and press Enter after typing each one:

 

              sc delete  vfilt
              sc delete adblock.dll
              sc delete httpfilt.dll
              sc delete htmlfilt.dll
              sc delete protect.dll    

 

3. Then reinstall the application, or choose to install a newer version, which you can do completely free from this link:

 

              http://www.bullguard.com/download.aspx

 

Download the installer and then log into the application with your current username and password.
