I get the 'Your computer might be at risk' baloon from the notification area for a good 2-3 mins after a hard retart on my xp pro installation, a log off/log on will produce the same result but for not as long.

I have a fast powerful machine and shouldn't have to sit and wait for this amount of time for an antivirus application to start.

Any suggestions??

Hei Big Liam,

All you need to do is disable the Windows Firewall - please perform the following steps:

1. Click on Start and then Control Panel.
2. Click on the Security Center icon.
3. Click on the Windows Firewall icon beneath the status updates.
4. Click Off (not recommended) and then click OK.

After turning off the Windows Firewall, you will get the "Your computer might be at risk" error. This error will continue to pop up in the system tray until you tell Windows that you realize the Firewall is turned off. To do that please :

1. Click on the balloon, or on the red shield in the system tray. Click on the Recommendations... button.
2. Place a check in the "I have a firewall solution that I'll monitor myself" box. This will stop Windows from popping up alerts that you are at risk. Click OK.
3. After you click OK, you will get the screen saying that Windows will not monitor your firewall settings. Just close the window, and you are done.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Kind Regards,
