I'm getting random popups with the heading Aurora and links on various pages over certain words (on pages I know). Both the links and the popups link to the same IP so I know they're related.

Over the past day, I've been working at deleting some content that seems to have been related to these popups judging from other people's problems (nail.exe, SrvProc.exe and "randomlygeneratedfile".exe. The randomly generated file is 6-7 characters that are randomly selected. This one is really annoying and I can normally find running in my TaskManager. If I delete it, before the taskmanager has a chance to decrement the count of tasks running, it returns. Nail.exe has a respawn rate of anywhere between a second and an hour. SvcProc I can get to disappear (using services.msc) for about an hour or next reboot.

jumpinI had this same problem. Key files associated with this adware: aurareco.exe, dc1.exe, dc2.exe, dc3.exe, nail.exe, appqq*.exe. Every time I tried to delete nail.exe in c:\windows, and before I could get my hand off the delete button, it would show up again. Despite my registry cleaning, file deleting and spyware scans, I could not get rid of it.

But !!! Here's how I got did rid of it.
If you use the Morpheus shareware program you have to unistall it and delete its file folder. I found one of the files as being associated with Morpheus. When these peer to peer network programs, they always install a secondary 'ad program'. Go to www.mypctuneup.com/aurora. Click on the 'uninstall' button. make sure all programs and explorer windows are closed. both IE and Windows Explorer (This program attaches directly to explorer). Hit the delete button and wait till finished. Restart the system. Go to your c:\windows directory and see if nail.exe is removed. (I actually went to mypctuneup/aurora twice and ran it) If removed run all your adware and virus scans again. Remove all reminents of aurora. If your comfartable with the registry, run 'regedit and look for 'key files' listed above and delete. This solution only came after about 18 hours of research.

Let me know if this helps.

Programs used - SpyBot, Adaware, Microsoft AntiSpyware, Norton Antivirus 2004 & 2005

These hints workes 100%  so far!  I had found a couple of the little nasties on my own but was not getting rid of the reinfection in the task manager.  Once I found Mypcuninstaller I was able to get rid of the core problems and cleanup consisted mostly of deleting Nails from the registry.  Been smooth sailing since.
thanks....
