Hello,

A problem I regularly come upon installing wireless (HP) all in one printers on computers from our clients running Bullguard Internet Security is problems with the hp scanning software.
The problem does not occur on computers where the printer is connected via USB.

The installation of the printer goes as normal. Printing to the printer from the computer is also not a problem.
The problem occurs when trying to activate scan to pc (to be able to start the scan from the wireless printer itself and choose a computer to scan to on your network) and when trying to perform a scan from the computer. If Bullguard firewall is disabled it becomes possible to activate scan to pc because the computer is then able to contact the printer, but it is still not possible to start the scan from the printer to the pc. It does however then become possible to start the scan from the computer succesfully.

Upon removal of Bullguard from the computer everything works normally, after reinstall of Bullguard the problem returns.

Does anyone have a solution for me?

Hello Frederik,

This issue can be easily solved by adding a new Firewall rule.
Unfortunately, since the networking configuration might differ, I can not provide you with the exact rule.
There are several "universal" solutions, but they should be used only if all fail.

For users having this issue, ask them to send the Firewall Rules and Rules to support@bullguard.com and we will reply with the needed steps.

Cheers!
