Firewall will not turn on

help please ...i have been alerted by bullguard who i subscribe payment to that the FIREWALL is inactive and when turned on this comes up as an error stating " 0x54,step 13 , why and what do i need to do?

As the Firewall is a very important component of your internet security I suggest you contact BullGuard Technical Support right away.

You can use Live Chat but if you send an email message you should include a screenshot of your error message.

After finally getting my computer cleaned of viruses. I was checking that my Firewall was turned on. When I clicked on it, it said "Windows Firewall is not using the recomended settings". I clicked on the "update settings now" button and got a popup message that said "Windows Firewall was unable to make the requested updates".

Then I tried to open the Microsoft Security Center and it said "The security center is turned off". I clicked "Turn on now" and got a pop up "The security Center can't be started".
I have been using Microsoft Security Essentials and Windows Firewall. They both usually show up in the security center. MSE is working.

I am running Windows Vista 32

Google: support.microsoft.com/kb/2519899 - this tutorial gives instructions on how to set your Security Essential settings.

I am assuming that you are not trying to run two real-time internet security programmes together.
