Personally, I like the black but the grey, not so much ...
Its quite obvious they wanted to seperate the look of the gamers edition from the normal one ... but say they do decide to change it, any ideas for a different colour other than red? lol
I actually like the dark interface. It differs from the original red interface, without being glossy or childish. Also, as far as my experience goes, gamers tend to have quite dark desktops, and when we're up 'till three 'o clock gaming, a bright screen feels quite like hot coal.
On another note, it might be worth it to experiment with a mix of black and green.
They could always have a settings option where you can change the colour/theme of your BG application :D
If you look at the SteelSeries professional gaming gear web site which is connected to this Beta version you will understand the colour scheme. It goes with their web site.. http://www.steelseries.com/int
I actually never thought the color would be a subject
That’s right, the color scheme is related to SteelSeries, and those people know gamers right!?
I think our first design has some blood on it, but apparently that is illegal in some countries, Germany I think. Picking a color is not “just like that”. All security companies have their own color nowadays; Kaspersky is green, Norton is yellow, Mcafee is black and CA is blue etc. We’re red, and now our gamer’s edition is grey or greish We don’t wanna step on some toes.
I believe that a color switcher would be nice too, and it doesn't have to step on any toes..the colors of the companies is controlled in the logos and perhaps in the themes, right?..not in the software or theme color.
This is perhaps not an hi-priority thing but it would be appreciated by many, or at least heighten the experience with the users if they could personalize their software alittle.
I really like the dark skin goes well with my XP theme which is also dark. I like most things to be dark as I do a lot of work on photographs and don't want anything bright on screen to cause my eyes to adjust making it harder to distinguish between tones.
Just add a colour slider or two to change the hue/luminance.
