I just downloaded the gamers edition and ive been using the steelsecurity since it came out.

After watching the 2 movies/demos i still not sure what the main differences are between gamers edition and steelsecurity.

For me it looks more like a update than a total new version. The steelsecurity could still setup a profile for each game like i can do using gamers edition.

Can anyone make a short explanation of the main differences between the 2 programs ?

:-)

I don't think there's a significant difference - neither in my experience. The difference may lie internally in the program itself - the program codes or an attempt to combine the existing normal Bullguard vers. 8 and the Steel Security into a full application.

I like the gamers edition better though since it has a larger window and compared to Steel Security means less up/down left/right scrolling *LOL*

Hi guys,

there's a world of difference between the old SteelSecurity and BullGuard Gamer's Edition.

SteelSecurity was based on the BG Internet Security 6.0, where Gamer's Edition is based on 8.0. That's a full 2½ years of intensive development and improvements from our developers. The firewall is completely different, the AV is vastly different, Antispyware is added, built-in Support is added, the Backup plugin is vastly expanded in features, and the Spamfilter is much better. And, this version is Vista-compatible, and 64-bit compatible. Just to give you the headlines :-)

The gaming-plugin itself is not radically different. It has the same basic features as the gaming-plugin in SteelSecurity, although the under-the-hood aspect of detecting launched games to auto-switch into game-mode has been re-written, along with other adjustments. Also, we're using this beta-test to collect feedback from you guys, and we already have a bunch of small improvements planned which will make a big difference for the usability of the product. I look forward to announcing these to you all next week.

Until then - keep testing and throwing ideas at us.
