Hi ...
I sometimes work too fast so this was my fault - i overlooked the option. Yes it works except for one application.
Description of process:
I dechecked the tag in "Automatically apply rules for known applications".
And as such when i (1) don't set checkmarks in the two fields in the system request message
[sending to bullguard for analysis and remember my answer]
and (2) just click no in the system request message
... it works and sets application permissions in "custom security / application" rules to [ask].
So far so good: This works, but in order to see changes and how they behaved i removed all application entries
to have bullguard to insert them like it does in a default installation.
Here comes the funny situation ... it does with all applications - except my outlook express > I have no entry
in application rules - but when i open my outlook express and click send recieve it simply access and downloads
without either asking me or setting an entry in the application rules.
In this situation i have experienced it with Windows Vista home / Bit 32.
1. I have rebooted after the discovery of this override (it could mean a window bug or a reboot
to activate) - nothing = no entry and auto access.
2. I closed bullguard and restart. Opened outlook and click [send/recieve] - nothing = no entry and auto access
3. I i closed bullguard and rebooted machine - same procedure - nothing = no entry and auto access
4. I manually created a new entry in application rules: default properties path ...
"C:\Program Files\Windows Mail\WinMail.exe" - set it to ask, opened mail and same procedure - nothing = no
system request - bullguard simply allow auto access.
5. I set outlook express to be blocked - same procedure - even with a block of the default .exe outlook file
(not a shortcut) i had auto access !!!
unfortunately i didn't have any clue of what would happen with this process before i removed all entries, BUT
if there are no entries except the bullguard default entries like the default and new installation - it should by all
means create an entry for outlook express when opened and activated >>> but it doesn't.
Any suggestion or explanation ?
If not i will report it as a bug (i work fast - but sometimes too fast, so it could be my fault)
Regards...
