I have recieved the end message copied into the e-mail.
I find it very disappointing that some betatesters have got a free subscription and the rest haven't recieved even a free month to test the changes, and as a "thank you" for spending time.
I have reported 9 bug reports and i have spend much time stressing and testing the gamers edition on both XP and Vista 32 bit systems.
I followed the link to download the release product and thought that when i installed it i at least had a chance to test the changes one month for free, so i could decide wether to invest my time and money in the product.
But no ... a letter and how i feel abused, my efforts and time.
Do you really think that nowadays people have time to assist without somehow being compensated ?
You have to do better than that.
What a bugger ...

Dear beta-tester of BullGuard Gamer’s Edition,
As you may have seen on our website, Gamer’s Edition is now released on the market. We’d like to thank you for your participation in the test – the feedback we had was valuable and helped us adjust the product along the way to suit your needs better.
We quite like the result we arrived at, but will of course continuously be looking for things to do better in the future. As a beta-tester, feel free to write in the new thread available at the forum:
We also encourage you to install the release-version of the product, as the beta-version will no longer be supported with virus-updates two months from now. You can download the release-version here:
I'm sorry to hea that you're dissappointed about the way the beta-test of Gamer's Edition ended.
This is the 6th beta-test that I've been a part of with BullGuard, and the approach has pretty much been the same in all of them: We've granted all beta-testers extra time on their user-accounts while the test was ongoing, and we've rewarded selected beta-testers with a 1 year subscription. This time around we only picked 1 winner - in other, bigger, beta-tests we've sometimes gone for 5 or 10 winners.
It's my experience that the majority of beta-testers join the test in order to help us. We actually ask the question "Why do you want to beta-test" when we sign up users, and I think you'd be amazed reading the answers to that simple question. Yes, many users mention the potential prize at the end of the test as a motivation, but the majority express a simple wish to help out BullGuard and get the chance to get a "first glance" at a new piece of software.
This doesn't change the fact that you were dissappointed, and that you did contribute with a lot of useful feedback during the beta-test. If you'd be so kind as to mail your BullGuard username to support@bullguard.com (and mention this forum-post while you're at it), I'll make sure you are duly thanked for your effort.
actually i wanted to test if you solved one of the most serious bugs that burdens my system: The prevent of a normal transmission on my outlook: First ... the recieve is slowed, so recieving just a single e-mail can take up to two minutes, second (and worse) sending an e-mail is mostly completely blocked, so i have to close and restart outlook to have the slightest chance to send one.
The product is good - not as user friendly as i could wish for (as an advanced user i find it irritating that its a fixed window size so i have to use scroll bars a LOT) ... but i certainly dont want to be a subscriber since i have had another product that worked the way i wanted > if your product blocks my e-mails.
I run a business and it is essential to me that e-mails runs smoothly.
So actually i just wanted one single day to test the changes you have made and to see if the outlook problem has been solved.
I dont expect a month long free subsription - i expected though that the testers would have a chance to see if their efforts lead anywhere.
Thats all.
Regards ...

I believe we've located your username and added 1 month subscription to it now. You can check by clicking the "Check status" button in the account-section of the application.
If your expiration-date is not September 13, we've not found the right user-name. Let me know :)
Yes you've found it. Account status 31 days left free trial: More than i wanted, but maybe what is needed, since i found a bug that relates to my outlook. Funny, but when Bullguard is expired ... it still influence my outlook express and the blocks. That's another matter though that i will report to your bug team.
Thank you for the personal support and engagement which brings me extremely close to a subscription since (and credit to all i have been in touch with, in your staff): Every time i had questions, curios suggestions, needed support or solutions i experienced (compared to other firewall/virus scanner software companies) i have had the fastest, best, most participating, most helpful support from your staff that have been beyond what one could normally expect - credit for that.
Stand alone your staffs way of support and personal engagement is worthwhile a subscription. I have no complaints about the way they have supported me.
Unfortunately it is a matter of how smooth it runs on MY system of course, since we all deal with time consumption and waste of ditto nowadays. Time IS money now.
If the changes that have been made in the new release don't cause any problems, bugs or crashes it is more than likely i will cancel my present subscription on CA products and subscribe to Bullguard (i have to live though with my outlook problems - but compared to the time i have won in fast support compared to my outlook bugs i guess i can live with it.
As the month go on i will report as before.
Sincerely ... Highball
