Hi. I'm using Windows XP Pro and while I was looking for a crack serial number ofr Kaspersky's Anti-Virus in SumoTorrent.com. I found one that is only 800KB, at first I was suspicious but since I was confident that my Kaspersky's Anti-Virus would protect me. I downloaded the torrent and opened the serial file.
Then, the virus attack started, Mozilla Firefox sudenlly closed, then series of pop-ups trying to tell that I have Cyborg-X virus (whatever it's name is), then in Task manager, 444.471 was one of the running processes. Then, Task manager closed, and I used my process manager (I was once attacked by a Worm.Delf.Bd so I already had this app). I terminated the mysteriosu 444.471. Then I used msconfig to deselect the other suspicious app, acledits.exe. Then I restarted but everything got worse.
Here is a summary of what happend:
*Firefox won't open. *Task manager "has been disabled by your admin" (but i'm the admin and I didn't do it). *Kaspersky detected multiple "hidden object" the I quarantined them. *Also, a trojan downloader was detected by Kaspersky, and I deleted it.
But my computer still acted wierd as Firefox won't still open, and Task manager is still disabled. Also, a red "security center" icon appeard in the taskbar near the time. Please help. Thanks.
