Hi All,

recently my pc seems to be dying a slow death. I can no longer open my norton anti virus, nor AVG anti virus nor my Zone a;arms, everytime i click the waiting timer is seen and then nothing happens. I have tried reinstalling them all but to no avail. when I press Ctrl alt and del the panel flashes and then disappears...I therefore installed bull Guard but in using the anti virus I get an estiamated time of 300 hours plus remaining which constantley increases.mad
I can only assume this is a virus that is disabling things but I really dont know how to stop it.
I have purcahsed Mcafee 2004 antivirus but thats going to take datys to arrive and I think my pc may just be on its way out.... Help!

 Hi steff,
try this Uninstall all your anti virus software but bullguard then let the puppy scan. it won't take 300 hours it sounds like you have three pieces of software saying I'm the boss, and conflicting with each other.

 Hi Steff,
if your familiar with regedit go into it and delete all files related to avg there.just go into regedit, go to edit key, click onit with that window you will get a drop down highlight find then click when the window pops up typr in AVG and click ok that will bring up all files related to that application. Then all you have to do is delete. works well with viruses to same procedure, type in virus names, click ok, delete the files that come up. also with XP you have system restore. You will need to turn that off as well, but before you do you need to do a disk clean and under the more options tab when that pops up there is three buttons the bottom one says remove all restore points click it and hit ok. That will remove any virus that could have written itself into the recovery program. that's neccesary because viruses like to write themselves there in case you reboot or restart it's right back in there. good luck and let me know.Oh by the way bullguard will take a couple of hours to scan it does go thru every file and program in your computer and it also has alot to do with prcessor speed.
