My computer keeps on restarting itself every now and then. Before it restarts a blue screen appears. Is this the effect of a virus or is my computer messed up?confused

Oh errm, i think i need to be concentrating more blush . If a blue screen appears its probably your pc that has a hardware/driver problem conflict or mabye software. Probably not a virus

Okay, heres what happened. You probably have a virus called Win32.Sasser.A-F (or what ever with sasser in it :P) The same things been happening to me. I have like 3 AV programs. Bullgaurd, AVG, and Norton. NOTHING found it. Heres a suggestion: Go into reg edit and look for the name of the virus somewere.

If you have 3 antivirus programs on it wont find anything. You should only use 1 tbh, because norton is terrible for running more than 1 antivirus.

If its a blue screen that it would normally be a problem with the computer, when its a virus i think it starts giving you countdowns and annoying you. I could be wrong, but ive not had a virus for ages smurf

Destroyers right,
idea this is one time system restore will work to your advantage. if your running XP just go in an turn it on and stand back while it does it's thing. If bullguard can't find a virus then you almost certanly don't have one. If you dont have restore use recovery disk just use the option to repair the files, you may lose some but your computer will stop going nuts.

That blue screen, is there anything on it? Iknow this may seem stupid blush but is it possible that your seeing the startup screen for your computer?HP's and Dells (Ithink dell) have a blue screen on startup. as far as your email goes talk to your ISP's tech support they can help you reconfigure your email even outlook. because that sounds like a configuration problem. the not clicking on links that's IE configuration you may have to go to microsoft and download latest version to correct that.
