Every time I go to google and search for something, the link I end up choosing always takes me to the wrong page, usually some ad or page that doesn't even exist. This is by far one of the most annoying things I have ever dealt with. Ran Malware Bytes which detected 4 threats, but then locks up, freezes, and never resumes. I have to end the process for it.

Here's my log:

Logfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.4
Scan saved at 8:02:50 PM, on 5/24/2013
Platform: Windows 7 SP1 (WinNT 6.00.3505)
MSIE: Internet Explorer v10.0 (10.00.9200.16576)
Boot mode: Normal

Running processes:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamgui.exe
C:\Program Files (x86)\NEC Electronics\USB 3.0 Host Controller Driver\Application\nusb3mon.exe
C:\Windows\SysWOW64\rundll32.exe
C:\Program Files (x86)\DeviceVM\Browser Configuration Utility\BCU.exe
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Java\Java Update\jusched.exe
C:\Program Files (x86)\AVG\AVG10\avgtray.exe
C:\Program Files (x86)\AVG\AVG10\Identity Protection\agent\bin\avgidsmonitor.exe
C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe
C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\plugin-container.exe
C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash\FlashPlayerPlugin_11_7_700_202.exe
C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash\FlashPlayerPlugin_11_7_700_202.exe
C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes\iTunes.exe
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\AppleMobileDeviceHelper.exe
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support\distnoted.exe
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support\APSDaemon.exe
C:\Program Files (x86)\Trend Micro\HiJackThis\HiJackThis.exe

R1 - So I have done everything you outlined here and it is still happening. Having uninstalled and disabled all unnecessary toolbars, I can't find any toolbars that are installed or enabled that would be causing this.

You are in safe hands by Robert Mateescu, I'm just wondering why you haven´t responded here where you had a rootkit, and an infected system file ?

http://forum.bullguard.com/forum/9/Constant-AVG-notifications-of-_95519.html
