BullGuard, specialists in user-friendly PC & Mobile security solutions, received the Confederation of Danish Industries’ Initiative Award 2007. The award is handed out annually to a company that has shown initiative and innovation in technological development, sales and/or marketing.

“There were many reasons to give this year’s award to BullGuard”, said Claus Spiegelhauer, president of the Confederation of Danish Industries’ Copenhagen office. “The main reason is however, that the company through continuous innovation and out-of-the-box thinking managed to create a unique product in a highly competitive global market."

BullGuard was founded in 2001 by Morten Lund and Theis Søndergaard with a mission to create a simple security product for internet users. The first version of BullGuard Internet Security was launched in June 2002. By early 2003 more than 3 million users had installed BullGuard and today BullGuard is an established brand in the security market.

“BullGuard is undeniably Denmark’s leading company in this field but it required a lot of hard work to get to this point”, continued Spiegelhauer. “They invested heavily in innovation and research and kept looking for new platforms and opportunities, resulting in different rounds of product diversification in the past 18 months”.
