BullGuard today announced the start of its cooperation with SmartPhones Telecom and Brightpoint/Dangaard Norway. Under the agreement, SmartPhones Telecom will preinstall BullGuard Mobile Antivirus on all Windows Mobile devices shipped by the Norway branch of Brightpoint/Dangaard, the world’s largest distributor of wireless devices.

Numbers of mobile malware have risen rapidly since the first mobile virus appeared in 2004 and they now total around 400. As mobile devices take over an increasing number of tasks from computers, it is expected that malware writers will intensify their focus on the mobile platform. This increasing threat has made mobile security an area of serious concern.

SmartPhones Telecom, Brightpoint/Dangaard Norway and BullGuard are determined to address this concern. BullGuard first released its Mobile Antivirus product in 2005, making them one of the frontrunners in mobile security.
