Main screen

Once BullGuard is installed and running on your computer, you can open it and use its various features to scan your computer, backup files to a safe location, setup your Parental Control profiles or configure the Firewall to match your network security needs.

The BullGuard main screen provides quick access to both application plug-ins and the Settings where you choose how the various modules behave and function on your computer. On the main BullGuard window you will also find recommendations for actions you can perform to improve your computer’s security.

The BullGuard toolbar includes:

  • the Run section from where you can quickly reach basic actions to perform (such as running Antivirus scans, Backup profiles for safeguarding information or Tune Up sweeps to optimize computer performance)

  • the Support & Help section with direct access to BullGuard’s Support Team (via Live Chat or e-mail)

  • the Control Panel from where you can reach each BullGuard module

In the lower left corner of the main application screen, you can find the Settings menu, where you can alter options for all BullGuard plug-ins, and the update button. While BullGuard is set by default to look for updates every 2 hours, you can also manually update the application by clicking on the Last update button.

Run tab

From the Run tab, you can run Antivirus scans, start backup tasks or check the computer for wasted space or Windows Registry optimization with the Tune Up module.

Scan: the Run button will start a full system Antivirus scan for malware on your computer.

Full System Scan: by clicking the Run button, you start a complex scan that will use the Antivirus to check your computer for malware, the Vulnerability scanners to look for possible issues with installed software and the PC Tune Up to check if your computer’s performance can be optimized.

Backup: clicking on the Run button allows you to start Backup tasks based on previously created profiles. You will be asked to choose what Backup profile you would like to run. If you haven’t managed to create a profile yet, just click on the New Backup to do so.

Choose Backup profile: click on the drop-down menu to choose what Backup profile to run.

Start Backup: once a profile has been selected, click this button to run the profile.

New Backup: if you haven’t defined a profile yet, click on New Backup to open the new Backup profile guide.

PC Tune Up: click on the Run button to start a sweep of your computer with the PC Tune Up module to check for ways to optimize your computer’s performance.
