 Activating your BullGuard subscription

You may experience that your BullGuard continues to state that you have a trial, even though you have just purchased a subscription. Or that your subscription is still expired, even though you just renewed it.

This is caused by the fact that your account-status is stored on our online server, and your local copy of BullGuard have to check this server, before it can know that your status has changed. Normally, BullGuard checks this status every time you start your computer, but if you are not connected to the internet through a DSL connection, or if your DSL connection is not active when BullGuard launches, this may cause the above problem.

You have 2 easy ways of fixing this.

1- button    If you have bought BullGuard in a store, you can also use our website to activate your BullGuard subscription.

Activating your subscription through our website is easier than ever: just click here.

2- button    If you have bought from our website, you can use your BullGuard to activate your subscription.

This is also very easy: all you need to do is to follow these next few steps.

Note: The following instructions and screenshots are from BullGuard 4.5, but are also valid for 4.x.

First, connect to the Internet and double-click the BullGuard icon in your System tray (bottom-right corner, next to the clock):

1

2

The icon may be either red or gray. If the icon is gray it is
because your local BullGuard believes that your account has expired.
Please double click the icon, regardless its color, and proceed with this guide
.

Go to the Account section of your BullGuard and click the "Check subscription" button.

3

BullGuard will now check our servers for the new status of your account and you will see that it changes from trial to paying subscriber!

If this does not work, you may have accidentally purchased BullGuard under a different username than the one you are currently using.

If this is the case, please check the confirmation email sent to you upon purchase and find your username there. Then click the "Change username" button:

 4

You can then enter your new username and password and login:

5

Remember, your BullGuard username is your email address.

If you have forgotten your password, you can ask for a new one here: Get a new password

Now BullGuard connects to our server and checks your account. It will start running like you have a paid subscription instead of a trial one.

Kind regards,
