How to install BullGuard
Please follow this guide if you wish to install the latest version of BullGuard.
If you already have an older BullGuard version installed, you need to uninstall it first. Please DO NOT install new versions on top of existing ones in order to avoid conflicts between their components.
IMPORTANT! As with any Internet security application, it is HIGHLY recommended to uninstall all other antivirus and firewall products on your computer before installing BullGuard 8.0, as they are to conflict with each other. It would also be wise to disable the Windows Firewall and Windows Defender in XP or Vista.
Note: This guide is for BullGuard v8.0. If you are using a different version, choose one of the following guides:
BullGuard v8.0 for Vista, BullGuard v4.x
Download BullGuard
First, click the below link to download the latest version of BullGuard:
Download BullGuard
In the pop-up window that appears next, choose Save:

Select a location to download the file. You may choose your Desktop, so it is easy to find it after the download is finished.
BullGuard will now be downloaded to your computer:
Install BullGuard
When the file has been downloaded, locate it and double-click. The file is called "BullGuard" and looks just like the icon
of the actual program:

When you double-click the file, the installation process will begin. First, please choose the language version you want to
install and click OK:

A series of screens will appear - if you are not an experienced user, you should just click Next and Yes to all of these:

IMPORTANT! During the installation of version 8.0 you may encounter 2 notifications from Windows (see below).
These will tell you that some BullGuard components have not passed the Windows Logo compatibility test. To continue the installation, just press Continue Anyway until these messages disappear. The reason behind this is that some new components in BullGuard are still undergoing certification with Microsoft. However please rest assured that they will not affect the stability and functionality of your computer in any way.

Installation guide complete - RESTART
When BullGuard has completed the installation, you will be asked to restart your computer. You must restart in order for BullGuard to complete its configuration.
Register your trial
When your computer has restarted, BullGuard will launch automatically. If this is the first time you install BullGuard, you will be asked to register your trial. You need to be connected to the Internet in order for this to work. Enter your email address, choose a password and click Register:

If you are not connected, you will get an error-message saying "WARNING: Registration failed".
This can also be caused by an error on the BullGuard registration server. If you get the error, please check your connection status - if everything is OK, then it would be a good idea to try again later.
If you are using a proxy to connect to the Internet, please check the "I use a proxy connection" box and enter your data in the screen that will appear next:

If all goes well, you will see a message saying "Registration successful".
Congratulations, BullGuard is installed and you are now protected from viruses and hackers!
Kind regards,
The BullGuard Team
