Groundbreaking discussions are being planned for SXSW 2020. Via SXSW’s PanelPicker contest, the community can filter through over 6,000 proposals for panels, workshops, and discussions and upvote their favorites. From Film and Music to Tech and Health - there’s no shortage of interesting ideas from which to choose.
This year, BullGuard has put forth two session ideas highlighting the increasingly important topic of privacy:
Tech Killed Privacy: Can We Save It?
Despite their protestations to the contrary, companies like Google and Facebook may never prioritize consumer privacy over revenue or profitability. The only way to truly opt-out is to abandon all online interactions, which isn’t practical for most of us. During this session, you’ll learn how to limit the incremental loss of privacy and take back control of your security and online privacy.
Consumer Privacy is Dead - Or Is It?
After more than a year of headlines highlighting the serious misuse of consumer personal data by hackers, governments and tech giants alike, Americans no longer feel that their personal information is safe - and they are right to believe this. This presentation will provide an overview of the privacy landscape right now, the outlook for the near future, as well as actionable, easily-digestible tips for consumers to take back control of their privacy online.
