Bullguard does not show up after installation

I'm in a bit of an unusual situation here: I want to install Bullguard Premium Protection (BPP) remotely on a family member's computer that is not good at working with computers.

I am using Chrome Remote Desktop to connect to the other PC, the PC is running Windows 7 32 bit and IIRC it has a Dual Core Celeron CPU and 4 GB of RAM

This is what happened:

- ran the installer, which took a while so I ALT-TABed

- returned to the RDP window to find the installer gone and a new shortcut to BPP on the desktop, no active BPP window.

- attempted to launch BPP from the shortcut and nothing happened so I restarted the remote computer

- when it restarted, it became unavailable for my remote connection so I thought maybe I can have the firewall disabled manually,

- the person on the other side managed to find the SysTray icon, right-click on the BPP icon then click on the top button to "show bullguard" but nothing opened up.

- after some waiting, they restarted the computer and it again denied me the remote connection.

- this time I asked them to right click the systray icon then click the "Exit" button.

- as soon as they did that, I could connect remotely.

- tried to start BPP again myself from the desktop shortcut but it still wouldn't open neither on the desktop nor in the system tray.

- so I uninstalled it until finding a fix.

My questions are:

1. What would the problem with the main window be? why wouldn't it open?

2. Is there any way to install BPP with the firewall disabled so I can connect to that computer afterwards and attempt to do the troubleshooting?

Thank you for your help.

Hello and welcome to our forum!

Just a quick advertisement. We offer Install&Setup at a decent price:https://www.bullguard.com/support/premium-support-services/install-and-set-up-bullguard

When the interface is not loading it can be a lot of things:

  1. There are missing Windows Updates

  2. Visual C++ Redistributable is corrupt (or .Net Framework for that matter).

  3. The system state is incomplete (if Windows was presinstalled on the PC, and the state remains "Undeployed" or "OOBE in progress" or "Audit in progress")

  4. There is an infection on the PC preventing BullGuard from starting

  5. There is a conflicting software installed

  6. There is corruption in the system (it can be as little as an incorrect registry key, to actual system files damage).

It's not easy to pinpoint what the issue is without logs or access to the computer in question.

You can try to install BullGuard in Safe Mode with Networking, to not loose connection.
