Would someone please explain to me what .oracle_jre_usage is? Is it possibly spyware or it is just an unnecessary tracking file for Java?

Hello Gerber,

.oracle_jre_usage stands for Oracle, Java SE Runtime Environment Usage and is just a Java Usage Tracker related folder.

You can read more here: https://docs.oracle.com/javacomponents/usage-tracker/overview/

It collects data about Java works and whether you want that to happen or not is an entirely different discussion you should have with Oracle.

Conclusion, it's safe to use if you want it.
