Beginning July 1st, 2020, BullGuard Antivirus, BullGuard Internet Security and BullGuard Premium Protection applications will no longer support the oldest versions of Windows. There is no change in support for computers running Windows 7 SP1 (Service Pack 1) or later.
At BullGuard we’re focused on providing users with the confidence to use the internet in absolute safety and we make it simple to protect your data, identity and privacy – at home, in the office and on the go.
We strive to protect as many devices and operating system versions as possible, however there comes a time when older operating systems cannot be protected to the level of security that we provide, as the manufacturer has stopped supporting these operating systems – usually for a number of years.
As Microsoft previously announced, they no longer publish patches for Windows Vista and Windows 7 SP0. These computers often become targets for cybercriminals, particularly when new vulnerabilities are discovered in the operating system. These vulnerabilities are not present or immediately fixed in more recent versions of Windows.
What will happen if you are currently running BullGuard applications on Windows Vista and Windows 7 SP0 operating systems?
Your BullGuard Windows client software will no longer receive new application updates that we will launch in the future. However, in its current state your software will continue to work and receive the latest malware definitions.
What will happen if you want to install on Windows Vista and Windows 7 SP0 operating systems?
Starting with July 1st, 2020 the installer you download on BullGuard.com website will no longer work on these operating systems.
What should you do if you’re running BullGuard on Windows Vista and Windows 7 SP0?
We strongly recommend that you upgrade your Windows computer to a supported operating system as soon as possible.
